mPEG Desthiobiotin, MW 5000

mPEG Desthiobiotin is one of Nanocs’ pegylated desthiobiotin PEG derivatives that is soluble in water. Desthiobiotin is a modified version of biotin. Compared to biotin, desthiobiotin binds to streptavidin, avidin and other biotin-binding proteins with lower affinity and it can be eluted from binding complex under much milder conditions (i.e., by competitive displacement with regular, free biotin). As such, desthiobiotin reagent is a useful alternative to Biotin for avidin-biotin techniques in which nondenaturing elution of the labeled proteins is desired. Pegylated desthiobiotin has good solubility and can be easily used in biotin/streptavidin assays and biomolecule purification process.
